Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall
Chairman Mao Memorial Hall was built in memory of the great leader Comrade Mao Zedong. It's located in Tiananmen Square, to the south of the Monument to the People's Heroes.
It was completed on May 24, 1977, covering an area of more than 57,000 square meters, with a total construction area of about 28,000 square meters. It's built on the former site of Zhonghua Gate.
There are two - tiered glass - overhanging eaves on the roof of the memorial hall, and sunflower reliefs are inlaid between the eaves. The base has two - tiered platforms. The platform sides are all built with purplish - red granite beside the Dadu River in Sichuan. The railing around it is decorated with evergreen flower - shaped patterns made of Fangshan white marble, looking solemn and solemn.
Thousands of tourists come here to commemorate Chairman Mao every year. There are viewing halls, memorial rooms, cinema halls, etc. in the memorial hall, where people can cherish the memory of the great man and express their deep respect for Chairman Mao.
