China Aviation Museum
The China Aviation Museum is the first large-scale aviation museum open to the public in China. It is also one of the largest aviation professional museums in Asia and one of the few outstanding ones in the world, possessing extremely high values in science popularization as well as historical and cultural aspects.
Located at the foot of Datang Mountain in Changping District, Beijing, the museum enjoys a superior geographical location and a quiet surrounding environment. The museum covers a vast area and houses numerous precious aviation cultural relics, covering aviation-related objects from the exploration period of ancient Chinese aviation inventions to various stages in modern and contemporary times. For example, there are early Chinese aircraft models, aircraft fuselages of different periods, aviation engines, airborne weapons and various kinds of equipment like flight suits.
All kinds of aircraft are on display here. There are old aircraft that are of landmark significance in the development process of China's aviation. They are quietly parked in the outdoor exhibition area, as if telling the aviation stories of the past and witnessing the development track of China's aviation industry from scratch and from weakness to strength. There are also some rare models that have regained their former glory after restoration and are placed in the indoor exhibition halls, accompanied by detailed text introductions and multimedia displays, which facilitate tourists to have an in-depth understanding of the history and technical features behind them.
The China Aviation Museum also frequently holds various science popularization activities, special exhibitions and academic lectures with the theme of aviation, attracting many aviation enthusiasts, student groups and ordinary tourists to visit and learn. It is an important place for spreading aviation knowledge, promoting aviation culture and inspiring people's love for the aviation industry.
