China Railway Museum

In the China Railway Museum, the arduous journey of China's railways over the past 130-plus years, as well as the glorious achievements and bright prospects of the construction of China's harmonious railways since the founding of the People's Republic of China, will be displayed.


The Dongjiao Branch is located on the north side of Jiuxianqiao in Chaoyang District, Beijing. It is divided into the Locomotive and Rolling Stock Exhibition Hall and the Comprehensive Exhibition Hall. It was officially opened to the public on September 1, 2003.

The Locomotive and Rolling Stock Exhibition Hall gathers and exhibits more than 100 locomotives and rolling stocks of different periods, types and systems in China's railways. In particular, the earliest existing "0" steam locomotive in China and the locomotives named after revolutionary leaders, namely the "Mao Zedong" locomotive and the "Zhu De" locomotive, can be regarded as the "treasures" among China's railway cultural relics.
