Qianmen Street is a famous commercial street in Beijing. It is located on the central axis of Beijing, occupying a very important geographical position. It starts from Moon Bay and ends at Tianqiao intersection, and is connected with Tianqiao South Street, forming a distinctive commercial passage in the central area of Beijing.
This street has a long history and is about 845 meters long. During the Ming, Qing and Republic of China periods, it was all called Zhengyangmen Street. Since it is near Qianmen, people commonly called it Qianmen Street. After going through the changes of the years, it was officially named Qianmen Street in 1965, and this name has been used ever since, witnessing the long process of commercial development in Beijing.
