Shilinxia (Stone Forest Gorge)
Shilinxia (Stone Forest Gorge) is located in Pinggu District, 70 kilometers northeast of the urban area of Beijing. It is the core scenic area of Huangsongyu Geological Park and got its name due to the four lofty and graceful stone forest peak groups in the gorge.
The scenic area mainly features natural scenery such as gorges, cliffs, stone forests and waterfalls. There are also entertainment projects like merry-go-rounds and flume rides.
It mainly consists of a stone forest mountain and a gorge. The stone forest mountain is further divided into the front mountain and the rear mountain. The front mountain is dominated by forest scenery, and you can overlook the Stone Forest Lake at the foot of the mountain from it.
Snacks and drinking water are not available for purchase in the depths of the scenic area, so make sure to bring enough supplies before climbing the mountain. When climbing the mountain in summer, the sunlight is quite strong, so it is necessary to prepare equipment such as sun hats and sunglasses.
