The Central Radio and Television Tower
The Central Radio and Television Tower is located on the west side of the Middle West Third Ring Road in Haidian District, Beijing, adjacent to Yuyuan Tan Park. It is the tallest tower in Beijing and also a traditional landmark building in the city. You can take pictures outside, or climb the tower for sightseeing, enjoy the food in the revolving restaurant, and visit the exhibitions on the development of television. It's definitely worth a visit.
The exterior of the television tower features a Chinese-style gray concrete appearance, with a tower section in the shape of a palace lantern in the middle. The whole tower is several hundred meters high and can be seen from afar, looking quite spectacular. When the lights are turned on at night, the entire television tower looks like a huge lantern hanging in the night sky, making it a beautiful sight for taking pictures outside.
After purchasing tickets and entering the tower, there are three places for sightseeing. Firstly, take the express elevator to the circular open-air observation deck at around 238 meters. From here, you can overlook the beautiful urban scenery of Beijing with a very broad view. It's also a great place for taking pictures, especially at night when it becomes an excellent spot for photographing the night view of Beijing. There are free telescopes at the observation deck. On a fine day, you can see buildings like the Bird's Nest and the Water Cube in the distance. However, when there are many people, you may need to queue up to use them. Additionally, there are special telescopes available for rent at a price of about 30 yuan per unit with no time limit.
The second scenic spot is the Television Culture Hall at around 225 meters. It showcases the development history of Chinese television through photographs.
The third scenic spot is the Capital Impression Exhibition Hall at around 219 meters. It displays the iconic impressions of Beijing through sculptures and the like. In both of these exhibition halls, there are free guided explanations that can help tourists understand the stories behind the exhibitions. You can simply visit them. If you want to hire a tour guide for a full guided tour, you need to pay an additional fee.
Besides these three places, there is also a revolving restaurant inside the tower. The restaurant offers a buffet, and the meal prices range from 198 yuan to 600 yuan. You can enjoy delicious food while admiring the beautiful urban scenery, which is quite stylish and romantic. In addition, there are many small interactive games set up inside the tower for tourists, and souvenirs can be given out, making it a lot of fun.
