Zhongnanhai

·Located in Xicheng District, Beijing, it is the office location of important institutions such as the State Council of the People's Republic of China and is regarded as a symbol of the top - level of the Chinese government.
·Chairman Mao Zedong, Premier Zhou Enlai, Comrade Liu Shaoqi and other Party and state leaders once lived here. The CPC Central Committee and the State Council also have their offices here.

·It was first built in the Liao and Jin Dynasties and then continuously expanded through the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was once the imperial palace and a place for feasts and outings of feudal emperors of successive dynasties.
